Here, we include both our being and our human experience. This approach is grounded in the science of human healing and connection, as illuminated by the founders of Somatic Science® and Somatic Experiencing®. These pioneers in human healing discovered new pathways into the heart of healing through the body. Their wisdom allows us to discover our unique wisdom; how it is possible to learn to trust and transform our experience without transcending it, opening up a doorway to happiness, wholeness, and our essential self.

Monique is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and court reporter with more than thirty years of firsthand exposure to human behavior under pressure. Her career began in criminal, civil, and family courtrooms, where she spent decades witnessing the nervous system in its most activated states — conflict, collapse, overwhelm, shutdown, and resilience.
This long arc of observing people in high‑stakes environments gave her a rare, embodied understanding of how physiology shapes communication, perception, and choice. What she saw daily in court — the micro‑shifts in tone, posture, breath, and presence — became the foundation for her later work in somatic healing.
As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Monique now helps individuals and groups build nervous system literacy, emotional capacity, and embodied resilience. Her approach is direct, reality‑based, and deeply human. She specializes in translating complex somatic concepts into accessible, practical tools for everyday life, drawing on her background in trauma‑informed group work, 12-step‑aligned frameworks, and the science of regulation.
Monique’s work bridges two worlds: the systemic realities of conflict and the physiological realities of the body. She supports teens, adults, families, and professionals in understanding how stress, trauma, and relational dynamics show up in the nervous system — and how to restore clarity, connection, and choice.
Her teaching is known for its clarity, compassion, and creative metaphors that make Somatic Science® feel intuitive and usable. Whether she’s working with youth, facilitating groups, or developing psychoeducational materials, Monique brings a grounded presence and a deep respect for the innate intelligence of the human system.
